"Giovanni Tantillo" Film Library
Thanks to an agreement with the L'Aquila Film Institute, "La Lanterna Magica", students have free access to the film library which offers:
The film library offers the students the possibility to borrow books and films, to use the reading room and to consult the materials in the archives, the photo collection, film journals and other specialist publications.
In addition the film library offers guidance and assistance to students who carry out research related to the field of cinema, audiovisuals and multimedia. The students must respect the film library regulations.
Subscription to the L'Aquila Film Institute Events
The L'Aquila Film Institute, "La Lanterna Magica", works to promote film culture and includes Academy students in all its initiatives and special events (retrospectives, guest speakers, seminars and workshops). Students are informed of these events during the course of their study.
Cinema Massimo
Cinema Massimo is located in Corso Federico II and is the only remaining cinema in the historical centre of L’Aquila. It was recently renovated and reopened by the Academy. It offers quality films and latest release films, guaranteed by the distributor "Circuito Cinema" in Rome. The screening programme also includes retrospectives and art films during the week. In 2005 Cinema Massimo was recognised by the prestigious film circuit "Europa Cinemas".
Academy students are entitled to concession tickets from Monday to Sunday which cost only 2.50 euro.
Abruzzo Film Commision
The Film Commission is associated with both the Academy and the L'Aquila Film Institute, "La Lanterna Magica". The Film Commission provides services for audiovisual productions in the region and Academy students are constantly informed of its activities.
